Atem is a meditative experience where performance and ritual meet, with breathing as the foundation and the source of all harmony. Visitors can participate on yoga mats around soprano Elisabeth Hetherington.

Bluebeard is the blood-curdling opera about an extremely wealthy, mysterious man. He is both attractive and dangerous, carrying a dark secret with him. The young Judith seeks a deep experience, an intensity. Bluebeard piques her curiosity. She falls for him head over heels. When he unexpectedly has to go on a trip, he hands her the keyring to his cathedral. He allows her to enter all rooms except one. Judith is fascinated; her desire to unravel the secret behind the forbidden door fuels her hunger for knowledge and wisdom.

Samen met sopraan Elisabeth Hetherington creëren de cellisten een kinetische mise en espace, waarbij elke beweging van de musici een onderdeel is van de dans. Geen beweging is los te denken van de muziek, geen noot klinkt zonder functie in het bewegingspatroon. Muziek en beweging vormen één adem.

In samenwerking met theatermakers uit Breda, Brabant en de rest van Nederland benadert LeineRoebana eigen werk en dat van anderen als stukjes van een puzzel die op alternatieve wijze in elkaar wordt gezet.
